### Aim and Benefits of World Bank Internship Program

Interns receive an hourly salary, and when applicable, a travel allowance of up to USD 3,000 for airfare. This allowance is at the discretion of the manager, and interns are responsible for their accommodations. Most intern positions are based in Washington, DC, with some in World Bank country offices.

### Requirements for World Bank Internship Program Qualification

To be eligible for an internship:

– Candidates must have an undergraduate degree and be enrolled in a full-time graduate study program (master’s or Ph.D.) with plans to return to school full-time.
– Fluency in English is required; knowledge of other languages such as French, Spanish, Russian, Arabic, Portuguese, and Chinese is desirable. Computing skills are advantageous.
– The Bank Internship Program seeks candidates for Operations (Front Line) in fields like economics, finance, human development, social sciences, agriculture, environment, engineering, urban planning, natural resources management, private sector development, and related fields.

### Selection Process

After the application period closes, qualified applicants’ profiles are shared with WB operations and business units interested in hiring interns. Following interviews by potential hiring units, selections are made, and the new BIP cohort joins in early May.
