Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be a Nigerian citizen residing in the country

  • Be a full-time first-year undergraduate (2025/2026 session)

  • Have at least five O’Level credits in one sitting (including Mathematics & English)

  • Score 200 and above in UTME

  • Be 18–25 years old at the time of application

  • Not be receiving any other scholarship or grant

  • Not be related to an NLNG staff member

For Host Community Applicants Only

  • LGA identification letter

  • Academic transcripts (100 level to current level)

  • Community identification letter signed by CDC Chairman or traditional ruler

  • Completed online application form

  • Passport photograph (white background, ≤200kb)

  • O’Level results

  • UTME results

  • JAMB & University admission letters

  • University ID card

  • Birth certificate (NPC)

  • LGA identification letter

  • NIN Slip


How to Apply for NLNG UGSS 2026

Follow the steps below:

  1. Review all eligibility requirements carefully

  2. Apply using your valid email and mobile number

  3. Visit the NLNG Scholarship Portal and fill in all required fields

  4. Upload all requested documents (passport photo, WAEC/NECO, UTME, admission letters, ID card, birth certificate, etc.)

  5. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a computer-based proctored test

  6. Additional documents will be required after the test for final verification
