Eligibility Criteria:

  • Enrollment: Applicants must have been enrolled in their program at the University of Hamburg for at least two semesters. Students in two-year master’s programs and doctoral candidates can apply after completing one semester.
  • Citizenship: Non-German citizens are eligible.
  • Financial Support: Applicants should not be eligible for the federal student loan scheme (BAföG).

Scholarship Benefits:

  • Monthly Stipend: Up to €930 for most students; doctoral researchers may receive up to €1,200, depending on funding availability.
  • Duration: Initially awarded for two semesters (12 months). Reapplication is possible, with a maximum funding period of two years.

Application Deadlines:

  • April 15: For funding from October 1 to September 30 of the following year.
  • October 15: For funding from April 1 to March 31 of the following year.
