The University of Kent is offering the Alumni Postgraduate Research Scholarship for the 2025/26 academic year. This fully funded scholarship supports alumni pursuing full-time or part-time PhD research degrees across all subjects.
Eligibility Criteria:

Academic Qualifications: Applicants must hold, or expect to hold, a Bachelor’s degree (1st or 2.1) or a Master’s degree (merit or distinction) from the University of Kent.

PhD Offer: Candidates should have an offer for a PhD research degree at the University of Kent for the 2025/26 academic year.

University Contribution: Applicants must demonstrate contributions to the University community, such as participation in Students’ Union activities, societies, sports, volunteering, or serving as a student representative.

Communication Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills are essential. Applicants should be able to explain their research clearly to non-experts, convey passion for their research, and highlight its broader value.

Interview Availability: Shortlisted candidates must be available for a video interview on Wednesday, July 30, 2025.
Scholarship Benefits:

Tuition Fees: Covers tuition fees at the home rate (£4,786 for 2024/25).

Maintenance Grant: Provides a maintenance grant equivalent to the UK Research Councils rate (£19,237 for 2024/25).

Curriculum Vitae (CV): A detailed CV outlining academic and extracurricular achievements.

Supporting Statement: A statement of no more than two A4 pages detailing the applicant’s research interests, achievements, and contributions to the University community.

Academic Reference: An academic reference supporting the research project will be requested if the applicant progresses through the initial shortlisting.
