The Singapore International Pre-Graduate Award (SIPGA) offers international students a unique opportunity to engage in scientific research at A*STAR’s Research Entities in Singapore. This program is designed for students pursuing their bachelor’s or master’s degrees in fields such as Computing and Information Science, Biomedical Science, Physical Science, or Engineering-related disciplines. Participants can undertake research attachments lasting from two to six months and will receive a monthly stipend of S$2,000.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Open to international 3rd and 4th-year undergraduate and master’s students from overseas universities in STEM courses.
- Applicants should have obtained or be on track to obtain at least a Second-Class (Upper) Honours or equivalent for their bachelor’s degree.
- Students must remain matriculated in their home university during the attachment period.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English is required.
- A strong interest in a research career is essential.

- Identify Projects: Visit the SIPGA application website to preview and download the list of available SIPGA projects. Select up to three projects that align with your interests.
- Prepare Supporting Documents: Ensure you have the following documents ready for submission:
- A copy of your passport.
- Complete academic transcripts of your bachelor’s and/or master’s degree. If the originals are not in English, provide translated versions.
- An updated Resume/Curriculum Vitae.
- Submit Application: Complete and submit your online application through the SIPGA portal. You may apply for up to three projects.
- Interview Process: Shortlisted applicants will be contacted by A*STAR researchers for an online interview.
- Notification: Successful applicants will generally be notified within two months from the date of the interview.
