The Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP)

The Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) is a government initiative to strengthen international cooperation by supporting talented students from developing countries. The scholarship supports Master’s degree programmes lasting 24 to 36 months.

It is designed to equip scholars with knowledge and skills to contribute to the development of their home countries.

📌 Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the 2025 MTCP Scholarship, applicants must:

• Be under 45 years of age.

• Hold at least a Second-Class Upper Honours (min GPA 3.50) in a relevant undergraduate program.

• Have completed their previous degree in English or provide valid English proficiency test scores:

  • IELTS: 6.0

  • TOEFL iBT: 70

• Apply for a postgraduate course in one of the following fields:

  • Science, Technology, Engineering (excluding clinical fields)

  • Economics, Finance, Banking, Management

  • ICT, Social Sciences, Political Science, International Relations

  • Education, Agriculture, and Aquaculture

💰 Scholarship Benefits

The MTCP scholarship covers:

• Full tuition fees

• Monthly living allowance of MYR 3,500 (~$9,516 annually)

• House rental, thesis, travel, and medical allowances

• Insurance coverage

• Return economy-class airfare to and from Malaysia
