Eligibility Criteria:

To qualify for the 2025 DAAD EPOS Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Work for a public authority, a state, or a private company in a developing country involved in development-oriented projects.

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree (minimum four years) in a related field.

  • Have an academic record ranking in the upper third of their class.

  • Possess at least two years of professional experience after completing their first degree.

  • Have completed their last academic degree within the past six years.

  • Not be residing in Germany for more than 15 months at the time of application.


Scholarship Benefits:

  • Monthly Stipend: €934 for Master’s students; €1,200 for PhD candidates

  • Health, Accident, and Liability Insurance coverage

  • Travel Allowance (unless covered by another funding source)


Required Documents:

  • Completed and signed DAAD Checklist.

  • DAAD Application Form (“Application for a Research/Study Scholarship”) — typed or clearly readable.

  • Detailed Curriculum Vitae (using Europass template).

  • Motivation Letter explaining academic, professional, and personal reasons for applying.

  • Certificates of Employment showing at least two years of relevant work experience.

  • Language Proficiency Proof:

    • English: IELTS or TOEFL (Institutional TOEFL not accepted).

    • German: Required if the course is taught in German.

  • Copies of Degree Certificates and Transcript of Records.

  • APS Certificate (for applicants from China).
