The Al Jazeera Fellowship Programme allows selected journalists and scholars to produce a 7,000-word research paper on topics relevant to media and journalism.

To qualify for the 2026 Al Jazeera Fellowship Programme, applicants must:

  • Hold at least a Bachelor’s degree.

  • Be a full-time journalist or researcher (freelancer or employed).

  • Have a minimum of 4 years of professional experience in journalism or related research.

  • Possess strong research and writing skills.

  • Be fluent in English (speaking and writing).

  • Have a good understanding of academic writing in English.
