The African Union (AU) Internship Program offers young Africans the chance to enhance their educational experience and develop professional skills by gaining exposure to the AU’s operations.

Eligibility Requirements:

To qualify for the AU Internship Program, applicants must:

  • Be in the final year of a Bachelor’s degree or enrolled in a graduate program.

  • Be fluent in at least one AU working language (Arabic, English, French, or Portuguese).

  • Be no older than 32 years at the time of selection.

  • Uphold high moral standards and integrity.

  • Have no serious criminal convictions.

  • Prior work experience is not required.

Application Process:

To apply for the AU Internship Program:

  1. Visit the AU Careers portal and create a personal account.

  2. Complete your profile on the portal.

  3. Prepare and upload the following documents:

    • A motivation letter detailing your expectations from the internship.

    • A valid passport or national identity card.

    • Certified copies of relevant academic certificates.

    • Current curriculum vitae (CV).

    • A recommendation letter from your educational institution.

  4. Submit your application through the portal.

After submission, you will receive an email confirmation.

Important Notes:

  • The AU does not cover travel, visa, accommodation, or living expenses for interns.

  • Interns are responsible for their own insurance coverage during the internship.
