Overview: We invite motivated individuals to join an interdisciplinary research group to explore the potential risks and contraindications associated with foam rolling. This research opportunity is open to those interested in writing a high-quality Master’s thesis, integrating the project into a cumulative doctoral program, or pursuing postdoctoral research.

Our group focuses on various aspects of fascia training and therapy, leveraging our diverse backgrounds to analyze and explore these topics from multiple scientific perspectives. We employ both qualitative and quantitative research methods.

What We Offer: As part of our interdisciplinary working group, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop a research project investigating the contraindications and potential risks of foam rolling, involving surveys and guided interviews with professionals across various medical specialties, including cardiology, phlebology, and orthopaedic/trauma surgery.
  • Design the study collaboratively with guidance and support from our scientific advisory board throughout all phases of the project.
  • Potentially publish your research in peer-reviewed journals.

Who We Are Looking For: We seek a highly motivated individual with the following qualifications:

  • A completed Master’s degree (not yet defended) in sports science, physiotherapy, or a related field.
  • A strong background in sports biology (e.g., anatomy, physiology).
  • Knowledge of research methods and statistics.
  • Excellent written and spoken German and English skills.
  • A keen interest in scientific publication.
  • An independent, responsible, and structured approach to research, with strong teamwork capabilities.
