The Zinan Wang Lab at the University of Kentucky’s Department of Entomology is currently seeking two Ph.D. students to join their research team. The lab focuses on the molecular mechanisms driving the evolution of novel physiological traits in arthropods and their adaptation to extreme environments. Their primary model system is the fruit fly (Drosophila spp.), with a particular interest in species that have adapted to stressful habitats, such as deserts. Additional research involves studying unique physiological traits in other arthropods, including scale insects and scorpions.

Application Process

Interested candidates should email Dr. Zinan Wang directly with the following:

  • A single PDF file containing:
    • CV
    • Cover letter detailing your interest in the lab
    • Contact information for three recommendation letters
