AUB Mastercard Foundation Scholarship Overview

The Mastercard Foundation Scholarship at the American University of Beirut (AUB) offers fully funded scholarships to outstanding candidates, primarily from African countries, for select online graduate programs. The scholarship aims to develop future leaders committed to driving positive change in their communities.

Scholarship Benefits

The scholarship covers:

• Medical insurance

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify, applicants must:

1. Be citizens of an African country.
2. Be 35 years old or younger.
3. Demonstrate strong academic performance in their previous degree.
4. Show leadership potential and a commitment to contributing to their community or country.
5. Have financial need that exceeds their resources.
6. Demonstrate readiness for university studies in English by submitting one of the following tests:
   • TOEFL IBT
   • IELTS Academic
   • GRE Verbal
   • GMAT Verbal
   • Duolingo English Test (DET)
     Deadline for English proficiency test submission: June 20, 2025.
7. Commit to participating in additional workshops and learning experiences provided by the Scholars Program.

Eligible Programs

The scholarship is available for the following online graduate programs:

• Master’s in Engineering Management
• Master’s in Computing in Education
• Master’s in Business Administration
• Master in Nursing Administration and Management
• Executive Master in Healthcare Leadership

Application Process

1. Step 1: Complete the AUB online graduate application and upload all required documents before the deadline.
2. Step 2: Select Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program under the Financial Opportunities section of the online application.
3. Step 3: Submit the AUB Financial Aid Application, which will be accessible 1-3 working days after the graduate application is submitted. You will receive an automated email with further instructions.

Note: A complete application includes:

• The AUB graduate application
• The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program survey
• RUSE test scores (English proficiency)

Application Deadline

• Graduate application deadline: May 16, 2025.

Scholars will participate in:

  These activities supplement the formal academic curriculum.
