The Keele University Sustainable Rural Futures (SURF) Scholarship, funded by the Leverhulme Trust, offers a fully funded five-year academic pathway combining a Master’s and PhD program. It is designed to support outstanding candidates from low-income backgrounds and/or Black heritage to pursue postgraduate education in the United Kingdom.

✅ Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the SURF Scholarship, you must:

Hold or expect a 2:1 honours degree or equivalent.

Be UK-domiciled and:

From a Black African, Black Caribbean, Black Other, or Mixed heritage background including these groups
OR -
Have received full maintenance loan/Special Support Loan during undergraduate studies
