The MTN Foundation Scholarship Scheme is an annual initiative that recognizes and rewards high-performing students in Nigerian public tertiary institutions. For 2025, the scheme offers financial assistance to eligible undergraduates through two primary categories:

  1. MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS): Targeted at 300-level students pursuing Science and Technology-related courses.

  2. MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS): Available to visually impaired students in 200 and 300 levels across various disciplines.

Scholarship Benefits:

  • Financial Support: Successful applicants receive ₦300,000 annually until graduation, provided they maintain the required academic standards.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Institution of Study: Applicants must be enrolled in Nigerian public tertiary institutions, including universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.

  • Course of Study:

    • STS Applicants: Should be 300-level students studying Science and Technology-related courses.

    • SBS Applicants: Open to 200 and 300-level blind students in any field of study.

  • Academic Performance:

    • STS Applicants:

      • Students in public universities and colleges of education must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.0/4 or 3.5/5 (Second Class Upper).

      • Students in public polytechnics must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 (Upper Credit) from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) program and have secured admission into the Higher National Diploma (HND) program.

    • SBS Applicants:

      • Blind students in universities or colleges of education must have a minimum CGPA of 2.5.

      • Blind students in public polytechnics must have a minimum CGPA of 2.0 from the OND program and have secured admission into the HND program.

  • The MTN Foundation also awards the top 10 scoring candidates of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) with scholarships, irrespective of their course of study or institution.

  • Scholarships are renewed annually until graduation, contingent upon maintaining the required academic standards.
