The Sydney International Undergraduate Academic Excellence Scholarship is designed to support outstanding international students pursuing undergraduate studies at the University of Sydney. This scholarship covers 100% of tuition fees and the Student Services Amenities Fee for the entire duration of the recipient’s undergraduate program, up to a maximum of four years.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:

  • Have applied for, but not yet commenced, a single undergraduate coursework degree (which may include embedded honours) at the University of Sydney, with a maximum duration of four years.

  • Enroll in their eligible degree on a full-time basis.

  • Be an international student as defined by the Higher Education Support Act 2003. Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents, and dual citizens with Australian nationality are not eligible.

  • Have completed secondary school or a foundation program in Australia or from a University of Sydney recognized foundation partner.

  • Not have previously undertaken any tertiary studies, excluding extension studies completed as part of a Year 12 program.

  • Application Process:

  1. Apply for Admission: Submit an application for an undergraduate program at the University of Sydney. Ensure that you meet all admission requirements for your chosen course.

  2. Scholarship Application: Complete the online scholarship application form. The selection process will consider academic merit based on your admission application, diversity of nationality, and intended degree.Important Dates:

  • Applications for Semester 1, 2025, are closed.

  • Applications for Semester 2, 2025, and onward are open.

The indicative turnaround time to receive a scholarship offer is approximately five weeks from the submission date of your application. Only successful applicants will be contacted.

Additional Information:

Approximately 20 scholarships are awarded globally per year across two intakes, focusing on diversity of course and nationality. Recipients must accept their unconditional offer of admission and the scholarship offer by the required deadline; failing to do so will result in the scholarship offer being rescinded.
