To apply for postgraduate programmes at the School of Postgraduate Studies, University of Lagos for the 2024/2025 session, follow these steps:
- Application Period: Application forms will be available from Monday, 26th February to Friday, 30th August, 2024.
- Online Submission: Completed application forms must be submitted online not later than Friday, 13th September, 2024.
- Accessing the Application Form: Visit the School of Postgraduate Studies University of Lagos Portal at http://spgs.unilag.edu.ng, click the 2024/2025 Applications link, then the “Application Form” link, and select the Postgraduate option from the Application Type menu.
- Pre-Application Form: Complete the Pre-Application Form to obtain a Payment Reference Number. Print the payment advice.
- Payment: Make payment of the non-refundable fee of N30,000.00 through any of the following options:
- Remita Payment: Use any commercial bank with the RRR number displayed on the payment advice.
- Online Payment: Click the PayNow link to make payment directly on the portal with your bank debit card.
- Continuing the Application: After payment, return to the School of Postgraduate Studies website, click the 2024/2025 Application link, then the “Continue Application” link, login with the ‘Payment Reference Number’ and provide surname in lowercase as the password.
- Completing the Application: Complete the application form, upload a digital passport photograph (jpeg format, not more than 15KB in size, on a white background, dimensions width: 275 pixels or 35mm, height: 314 pixels or 40mm), and submit the form.
- Eligibility and Documents: Read the requirements for your desired programme carefully to confirm eligibility. Note that candidates awaiting Bachelor’s degree results, currently undergoing Postgraduate programmes, Nigerian citizens who have not completed the National Youth Service Corps assignments, and holders of Degrees obtained from Outreach/Satellite campuses are not eligible. Upload every credential listed on the application form, including Degree Certificates, NYSC Certificate, and Professional Certificates.
- Academic Transcripts: Academic Transcripts must be submitted to the Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies on or before the beginning of the registration/screening exercise by postage or email to adminsecspgs@unilag.edu.ng.
- M.Phil./Ph.D. Candidates: Contact the relevant Departments for availability of Supervisors/vacancies before applying.
- Qualifying Examinations: Dates for ONLINE Qualifying Examinations and any additional information will be advertised and provided regularly on the University of Lagos, School of Postgraduate Studies website. Entrance/Qualifying Examinations are scheduled for the week of 23rd September to 28th September, 2024.
