The International Pediatric Nephrology Association (IPNA) is launching a World Kidney Day (WKD) contest, awarding USD 5000 to pediatric nephrology centers from developing countries globally. The purpose of the contest is to stimulate activities that enable policymakers, healthcare providers, government bodies, industries, and patients with kidney disease along with their caregivers to recognize disparities in access to diagnostics and treatments that could slow down the progression of kidney disease and enhance patients’ quality of life. Participants are encouraged to identify the root causes of these inequities and suggest solutions to address them.
The 2024 World Kidney Day campaign theme is “Kidney Health for All – Advancing Equitable Access to Care and Optimal Medication Practice.” It aims to raise awareness of the necessity for equitable access to suitable treatment and care for individuals with kidney disease, thereby improving their lives and slowing the progression of the disease.
IPNA invites applications to assist in bridging the inequality gap within the pediatric population affected by kidney diseases.
