GoGettaz is a partnership initiative under the Generation Africa umbrella, initially co-catalyzed by Yara, Econet, and the Alliance for Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA). It aims to identify, inspire, support, propel, and celebrate innovation and entrepreneurship in the agri-food sector in Africa. The prestigious annual flagship GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize Competition has activated a community of 15,750 young founders/co-founders of high-potential agrifood businesses in Africa, all with the ambition to create impactful ventures in the agri-food sector.

Aim and Benefits of GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize Competition

The GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize Competition offers 100,000 US Dollars in prizes, with 2 x 50,000 US Dollar Grand Prizes. The competition aims to award ventures that make a significant impact in areas such as improving rural livelihoods, nutrition, climate-related solutions, technology, gender impact, natural resources conservation, and job creation. Additionally, the top GoGettaz agripreneurs will get facilitated participation at the Agribusiness Deal Room, an invitation to the 2025 GoGettaz Africa Leadership Program for top finalists, and an all-expenses-paid trip to pitch their businesses at the Africa Food Systems Forum Summit

Requirements for GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize Competition Qualification

To qualify for the GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize Competition, the entrepreneur must be aged 35 or below on the date of submission, hold nationality from a country which is a member of the African Union, and be the founder/co-founder of the venture represented in the competition. The venture must be legally registered in a country which is a member of the African Union, be headquartered in a member country, and be designed to be financially sustainable, either as a for-profit business or a non-profit generating some revenue. The venture should play a role in the agrifood sector and/or support the development of the agrifood sector through an innovation or process improvement
